The Canopy Tour

Leaves at 6:45 a.m. The trip begins with an amazing 4 x 4 drive through a tropical forest.

You will arrive at a ranch house, located next to a stream at the foot of a mountain. Then enjoy a delicious full Tipico style breakfast or lunch. Then it's on to the Canopy Tour.

The Canopy Tour is designed to immerse you into a world of adventure and discovery using 16 platforms, 8 cables, and 3 rappel lines. (ACCT inspected and approved.)

Experience an incredible adrenaline rush while zipping from platform to platform high up in the rain forest canopy. See unbelievable tropical vegetation and wildlife including monkeys and toucans.

Expert ACCT trained, bilingual guides assist you along each step of the tour through each layer of the rain forest environment and explain your surroundings and what is going on. This is an eco-tourist education you don't want to miss. All necessary equipment is included.

Once back on the ground, enjoy a refreshing cool dip in a pond, nestled in a nature setting.

No experience is necessary! Tour is for anyone over the age of five and in at least moderate physical condition. It is recommended that you bring hiking boots or tennis shoes, shorts or pants, camera or video camera, swimsuit and towel.

The Canopy Tour was originally invented in Costa Rica. Using platforms, connected with a series of rope pulleys on horizontal traverse cables, the effect is to sail across through the top of the tropical rain forest canopy in an exhilarating fashion. Going back to the forest floor involves rappelling down a rope.

Environmental and Safety Statement:

Because of the type of platform and cable construction, there is little impact to the sensitive ecological balance that exists in the rain forest, which is a primary concern. Platforms and cables are made of non-corrosive steel. The pulleys are also made from non-corrosive steel, with a built-in backup system. Safety checks are performed daily on all equipment, anchors, cables and connections. Harnesses, carabineers, and other equipment all pass standards set by the ACCT (Association of Challenge Course Technologies).
