La
Playita Beach
Playita
is a cozy, secluded gay beach with fantastic ocean views. Clothing-optional,
it is a
wonderful
opportunity to be completely one with nature. Surrounded by jungle,
there is even a little path to small waterfall for playing and rollicking!
The
waters are warm and jellyfish free and the beach filled with friendly
‘ticos’ (Costa Ricans) and tourists with no pressure to
hook up.
The
beach is accessed by walking to the north end of Playa Espadilla, wading
across a stream, walking across a cove, and climbing over the volcanic
rocks at the end of the beach. It is recommended that you wear shoes
or thick sandals so as not to injure your feet.
When you go to Playita, be sure to time your arrival and departure to
avoid being stuck there during high tide. For 1 1/2 hours before and
after high tide, you will not be able to access or leave the beach.
There
are no services provided at this beach, so be sure to bring everything
you need with you. As with all the Pacific beaches, there are strong
currents and undertows, so be very careful and avoid swimming alone.
