Savegre
White Water Rafting
Get
Ready to Rock and Roll!
Assisted
by experienced and expert guides, this white water rafting tour will
be tailored to your experience and skill level. The Naranjo and Savegre
Rivers are a stunningly beautiful natural resources with class II, III
and IV rapids. River banks are overgrown by the jungle; canyon walls
meet the whitewater at 90 degree angles; if you are into the river running
experience, this is the place to go!
Depart
hotel at 7 a.m. Arrive at base of operations for a complete breakfast.
Then it's off to the river, making your way through the picturesque
Costa Rican countryside, riding through some of Costa Rica's most beautiful
coffee plantations.
On the way, guides will begin your orientation to the rafting experience.
These fluently bilingual guides will help determine your skill level.
People of the same skill level are grouped together...unless of course
you have a group of people you would like to keep together for the tour.
Upon
arriving at the river, the instruction continues. Rafters are outfitted
with life vest, oars, and helmets. Guides cover all contingency situations
and rehearse procedures. Again, people of the same skill levels are
matched with each other.
Then
it's off down the river! People are grouped six to a raft. There will
be one stop when one of the rafts is overturned on the shore to be used
as a serving table where a lunch will be served. Then it's back into
the river for the rest of the wilderness ride. When finished, you will
be transported back to the hotel, savoring memories of an unforgettable
experience!
Actual
time in the river is approximately four hours. The actual class of rapids
depends on season and rainfall; since Amigos Del Rio has both the Savegre
and Naranjo rivers to chose from, rafters will always
be matched to their appropriate levels of difficulty.
